WE BELIEVE IN...

 

Inspiration: We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, infallible in the original, that every word (verbal) is inspired of God so that the entire sixty-six (66) books of the Bible (plenary) are without error (inerrant). Whether in matters of Faith, conduct, science, or history. The Word of God only is our supreme authority and final rule in all matters whatsoever.

Preservation: We believe further that God has preserved His Word for us today through the preserved Hebrew (Masoretic text) and the Greek (Textus Receptus or Byzantine text type), both of which have been faithfully reproduced since their origin. We further believe that God has preserved that sacred text for us in the King James Version of the scriptures, the only version translated from the preserved text.

GOD

​

The Trinity: We believe that there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite, sovereign Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

God the Father: We believe in God the Father, who sent His Son to be the Savior of the world, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

​

God the Son: We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, and God, the Son; that He was active in the creation; that He is sinless; that He was born of a virgin, by the Holy Ghost coming upon her and the power of Highest overshadowing her; that He was made in the likeness of men, yet without sin; that by His death, through the shedding of His blood, He made full and vicarious atonement for the sins of the whole world; that He arose bodily from the dead; that He ascended into heaven; and that He is our only High Priest.

God the Holy Spirit: We believe that God the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving would He restrain the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He bears truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the Agent in the new birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer.

MAN

​

We believe that man was created in innocence by God; that he was created in the image of God; but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless and happy state, in consequence of which now all men are sinners. (Genesis 1:17; Romans 1:20; Romans 5:19; Ezekiel 18:19-20)

SALVATION

​

We believe that our salvation is wholly of grace; that the only condition of salvation is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again; that this new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus, an instantaneous work of God by which the one dead in trespasses and sins is made partaker of the divine nature and receives eternal life, the free gift of God; that the individual thus regenerated is justified by the blood of Christ, his faith being reckoned for righteousness; that all who are truly born again are kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ. We further believe that those who are born again will take part in the first resurrection and shall ever be with the Lord; and that those who believe not shall die in their sins and have their part in the lake of fire forever.

THE CHURCH

​

We believe that the local New Testament church is a body of believers baptized (immersed) upon a credible confession of faith in Jesus Christ; having two offices (Pastor and Deacon); sovereign in polity; subject to her one superintendent, Jesus Christ. We further believe that the local church is the organized working force of Jesus Christ, united for worship, for work, and for fellowship; that to the local church are committed for administration and perpetual observance the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, as well as the task of winning the lost for God and teaching them His word, locally and worldwide. We reject the so-called “social gospel.”

 

 

CREATION

We accept the Genesis account of creation and believe that man and all things, living and non-living, came by direct creation of God and not by any form of evolution.

MARRIAGE

​

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one, legitimate meaning, and that is marriage sanctioned by God, which joins one man and one woman in a single, covenantal union, as delineated by Scripture.

​

We further believe that God created marriage as a divine institution between one man and one woman for life. God hates divorce and intends marriage to last until one of the spouses dies. Therefore, we never promote divorce as a solution to marital problems. We also believe God’s forgiveness includes all sins, including those who violate God’s permanence of marriage.
